October 6, 2008
October meeting was called to order by Marv, N9TDE with 10 members present.
Program on Spiders, Snakes, and more by Melany Malsom
We saw cockroach’s, Tarantula’s, various spiders (large), snakes including a Ball python, all the visitors behaved very well and all returned to their containers.
Minutes of the September meeting as printed and the financial report with balance of $ 824.23-- moved by Randy K, 2nd Don & approved

OLD Business:
* ARES cards—Randy K. working on way to get photos on the cards.
* Participation/ Attendance reward- decide to wait on making a decision
* Fox Haunt -- briefly discussed nothing set if someone wants to conduct one, Marv has the fox.
NEW BUSINESS
** Skywarn recognition December 6 – Randy has secured the call sign of N0Y for use at the National Weather Service for the event. Discussion over what Club radio to use, decided to take both 440 and Icom. Use computer for logging contacts. Use B & W antenna from comm van
** JOTA October 18 – No Plans at this time.
**QST QSO event -- Dakotas no club sponsor at this time, is this something we want to do – no decision.
** Don mentioned that on the Geritol net 3668, that has been a loud hum between 7-8 pm that comes and goes,
** It was mentioned that Bryan KC0MYX had a 30’ tower he was looking for a home for. ( It may be gone by now)
