EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE - No report.

PROGRAM & PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE - No report.

FINANCE COMMITTEE - No report.

OLD BUSINESS: CODE CLASSES have been stopped for lack of participation.

JOTA: Event was held Oct 17th from 11AM to 8PM at Richmond Youth Camp. Participating were J KB0JHR, Wade KC0DHF, Darin KC0DHG, Bob WB0HJK, and Marv N9TDE. Equipment used was club Kenwood HF rig, mobile tower, club antennas( 40/80 dipole, vertical from John N0MHZ, rig and tuner from Bob WB0HJK. Set up was done on east side of main lodge with vertical on tower and dipole tied below and end tied to building south and flag pole to west. Jay arranged to have tower trailered to Richmond. He also replaced one flat tire. Rigs were set up in main lodge on north and south wall. Lots of interest this year and good contacts. Some DX also South America and New Zeland. Lunch and dinner provided by the scouts.

Suggestion: Tower did not lower as it was raised to high. Need to get trailer fixed so it can be towed. Slow scan TV and Packet demonstration would be a good addition.

HAUNTED FOREST: Randy KA0ZEE, Bob KA0QVK, Marv N9TDE, and Jonathan KC0DMH worked the event.

WEB PAGE: Jonathan KC0DMH has the initial version ready. It will be put up soon.

NEW BUSINESS: UPCOMING HAMVENTIONS IN 1999 - ARRL Midwest Division July 10, St Cloud Hamfest Aug 8, Eau Claire WI July 10.

OLD BUSINESS: RONCALLI WALKATHON was worked by Jonathan KC0DMH, Randy KA0TVG, and Wade KC0DHF. Event went smoothly.

VE TESTING was held October 10th. New Technician Plus license was earned by Dave Compton KC0EHR.

WEB PAGE - No new developements.

CODE CLASSES - Started last thursday.

DIRECTORY - Final picture taking will be done at November meeting. Plan to distribute them at December meeting.

NEW BUSINESS: JOTA setup morning of Sat Oct 17. Meet at Tech School 10:30.

HAUNTED FOREST - Wylie Pavillion Oct 23-24 from 6:30 PM -12 Midnight.

FIELD DAY - Marv N9TDE gave detail statistics on FIELD DAY. 13 ops, 3 guests, 66 sections, 1382 points. Novice station worked 45 sections. It was agreed to register the software FD LOGGER we have used with good luck.

DOOR PRIZE - Ron WD0HWL won the $12 cash pot.

     Walk America thank you letter was received.

     John N0MHZ is working on a new directory and expects it to be
completed by Dec. Considering making the directory a regional document with
member photos. Exchange Club requests a club member to speak at their
meeting. John N0MHZ      volunteered.

     FINANCE COMMITTEE - No report.

     OLD BUSINESS: CLUB PACKET BBS - Station has been shut down
indefinitely due to inactivity.

     FIELD DAY - No report until next month.

     WED 2M NET - Net has started back on its regular weekly schedule.

     CODE CLASS - Weekly 13 WPM class will start Thursday Oct 1 at 7PM.

     NEW BUSINESS: RONCALLI WALKATHON Sept 2 has asked our assistance from
10:45 to 2:30. Jonathan KC0DH will organize and will need 2 mobiles and 1
portable.

     VE TESTING - Session to be held Sat Oct 10 9AM at Technical School

     HAMFESTS - Mentioned upcoming events.

NEW BUSINESS: WEDNESDAY NET - Starting July, the WED NET will be held the 1st Wed of the Month.

CODE CLASSES - 13 wpm classes are expected to be held this fall.

COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS - List was finalized.

CLUB INSURANCE - moved and carried to renew.

PIERPONT SITE - moved and carried to renew annual agreement with SDPTV.

FIELD DAY - Site will be Hub Area Technical School. Computer logging will be used. Need to check with Noel for generator. Marv D and Ron B will bring computers. Use club HF rig. Planning novice station. Order pizza as necessary. Don C to handle publicity. Discussed calling all members to find out when they can operate. Marv D, Jerry G, Don C will split the calling list. We will use club call. Setup at 10AM.

OLD BUSINESS: VE TESTING held May 2 resulted in a Technician Class license for Jonathan Imberi. Several other Licensees attempted to upgrade.

WALK AMERICA - 4 members assisted.

TORNADO DRILL - 14 members checked in on April 22.

NEW BUSINESS: CLUB PACKET BBS - Very little activity. Agreed to trial shut down period after notification of affected forwarding stations.

FIELD DAY - June 27-28 will be held at the Technical School.

WEDNESDAY NET - This summer they will be held only the 1st Wednesday of the Month.

CODE CLASSES - Interested are Bill Compton, Wade Johnson, J Arlt, Jerry Taylor, Gary Dahlerup, Merle Voeller, and Jonathan Imberi.

COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS - Reviewed list and took volunteers.

PROGRAM - John N0MHZ described the installation of his new tower including the procedure to obtain a building permit and an easement.

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE - A new solid-state amp for Pierpont 2M repeater was purchased by Bob Janssen. Moved & seconded to repay Bob $290.77. Carried

PROGRAM & PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE - Science Fair at Holgate Jr High was given a 2M repeater demo which was enjoyed by both boys and girls. We will have an open house this Sat. Planning to have Technician classes starting Mar 10 with last class Mar 26 and testing Mar 28.

NEW BUSINESS: CLUB COMMITTEES - Discussed openings and took volunteers.

PROGRAM - Hector KC5BRB explained EMWIN Emergency Managers Weather Information Network. He distributed information for anyone wishing to obtain data on their own PC.

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE - Rolly N0AHL gave general comments on broad plans to tie club repeaters together. 440 eqpt is being assembled from surplus commercial equipment.

PROGRAM & PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE - Classes will be held after open house Feb 28. Testing session will be held during last class session Mar 21. 1st class scheduled for Tues Mar 3.

FINANCE COMMITTEE - No report.

OLD BUSINESS: CLUB WEB PAGE - Technical School will donate server space for our WEB page.

NEW BUSINESS: HOLGATE PTA - Feb 24 from 11 to 2 they will hold a science fair. We have been asked to set up a ham radio demo. Don NY0W and Bob WB0HJK will help.

PIERPONT SITE - Revised agreement was discussed. Motion was made and carried to sign. Lew W0JOZ donated the $25 general tower use fee for the first year.

HAMFESTS - Blaine MN Feb 14, Norfolk NE Mar 6-8, Fargo ND March

PROGRAM - J Arlt KB0JHR related his experiences in Hungary. Especially interesting was how his amateur radio knowledge was used.

TECHNICAL EQUIPMENT COMMITTEE - Have ambitious plans to do linking of 2M repeaters to give wide area coverage to replace the Pierpont site. Need controller boards. Approximate cost not including radio equipment is $2300.00. Should get link to west done first. We need a site for our repeater at Webster. Need to raise funds. Bath repeater is working-think we need feedline replacement.

PROGRAM & PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE - Expect newsletter next meeting.

FINANCE COMMITTEE - Annual audit found all to be in good order. See attached report from audit committee.

OLD BUSINESS: CLUB WEB PAGE - Work continues. Need favorite links from membership.

NEW BUSINESS: QUESTIONNAIRE - Marv N9TDE distributed a sheet to indicate program choices for future meetings.
